Acorn Project Partner Update
Pale Blue Dot, the lead developers of the Acorn Project, are progressing a new development agreement with industry partners Shell and Harbour Energy, to form a strong partnership to take this important Project through to a final investment decision. Total, one of the first industrial partners on Acorn, wishes the Project well but has decided to step down from the Project as part of its portfolio management strategy.
The Acorn Project is now focused on delivering critical UK CCS infrastructure by the mid 2020’s with the full expectation of storing between five and six million tonnes of CO2 by the end of the decade.
Acorn has received match funding from the UK and Scottish Governments and has benefited from two rounds of Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) funding from the European Commission.
