Aberdeen Science Centre Mini Science Festival at Peterhead Football Club
12th October 2025, Peterhead Football Club
The October school holidays kicked off in style with an action-packed day of science for all the family at Aberdeen Science Centre’s Mini Science Festival, hosted at Peterhead Football Club.

It was fantastic to see budding engineers, geologists and chemists – along with their grown-ups - exploring the properties of CO2 and the key rock formations that make this region so well-suited for CO2 storage. Families then put their knowledge to the test with competitive challenges to see who could capture and store the most CO₂. Congratulations to Francesca, whose balloon reached an impressive 54.4 cm!

We were delighted to support an event that brings STEM engagement beyond the Science Centre and out into the region, helping more families discover the science behind Scotland’s low-carbon future.
